The Berlin Fernsehturm (TV Tower) is a telecommunications tower in the central Mitte district of Berlin, Germany. It was designed by architect Helmut Jahn and structural engineer Werner Sobek. Completed in 1969, it became the city's most iconic landmark. The tower has a height of 368 meters (1,207 ft) and an observation deck open to the public at a height of 203 meters (666 ft). The Berlin Fernsehturm is the fourth tallest structure in Germany, after the Commerzbank Tower, the Messeturm Frankfurt, and the RWE Tower. It is also the tallest structure in the European Union.
