The Gendarmenmarkt is a beautiful square in the heart of Berlin, dating back to the 18th century. It is named after the Gendarmen, the German military police. Today, it is a popular tourist destination, home to a number of notable buildings, including the Konzerthaus (concert hall), the Deutsche Dom (German cathedral), and the Französischer Dom (French cathedral).
