About The Citadel
This majestic citadel located in Bijapur, Karnataka, was erected by the Adil Shahi dynasty in the 16th century. It is considered to be one of the best examples of Islamic architecture in India. The fortifications, palaces, and mosques within the citadel are all very well preserved and are a major tourist attraction.
