About Basilica - Santuario di Santo Stefano
The Basilica of Santo Stefano is a major Romanesque church in central Bologna, Italy. It is one of the city's most famous landmarks. The church was commissioned in the late 11th century by the commune of Bologna, and dedicated to Saint Stephen, the first Christian martyr. The project was headed by the sculptor Wiligelmo.
