Chanthaburi is a province in Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from north clockwise) Rayong, Trat, and Sa Kaeo. To the south is the Gulf of Thailand. The provincial capital is Chanthaburi town. Other important towns include Trat, Laem Sing, and Khlung.
The province is divided into six districts ("amphoe"). These are: The province is famous for its gemstones, especially sapphires. The area around Chanthaburi town is filled with gemstone mines and gemstone dealers.
