About Explore Archaeological Site of Phaistos
The archaeological site of Phaistos is located in the south of Crete, in the municipality of Palaikastro. It is located in the foothills of the Mount Ida, on the banks of the river Mouselas. The site is known for the discovery of the Phaistos Disk, a clay disk with carved symbols that is one of the most famous objects of Minoan archaeology.
