About Museo di San Marco
The San Marco Museum in Florence is a museum dedicated to the art and history of the city of Florence. The museum is located in the San Marco district of Florence, in the Palazzo Vecchio. The museum is housed in the former residence of the Medici grand dukes of Tuscany. The palace was originally built in the late 13th century, and was extensively remodeled in the 15th century by Michelozzo. The museum was founded in 1871, and originally contained a collection of art and artifacts from the city of Florence. The museum's collection has since been expanded to include art and artifacts from all over Tuscany. The collection is divided into several sections, including art from the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the Baroque period. The museum also has a large collection of weapons and armor from the medieval and Renaissance periods. Per Person 97,889
