About Gwalior Zoo

Gwalior Zoo is a public zoo in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India. It is the only zoo in the city and was opened to the public in 1978. The zoo is spread over an area of of which is the core area. The zoo has a collection of about 1,200 animals, including 156 species of mammals, 177 species of birds, and 18 species of reptiles. The zoo also has a botanical garden which has a collection of about 1,600 plants, including 190 species of trees.
