History of Belur Math
Belur Math is a Hindu monastery located on the west bank of the Hooghly River in West Bengal, India. It is the headquarters of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission. The monastery was founded in 1897 by Swami Vivekananda, an Indian philosopher and a key figure in the introduction of Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world.
