The tombs of the nobles at Luxor are some of the most impressive ancient tombs in Egypt. These tombs were built for the wealthy and powerful during the New Kingdom period of Egyptian history. Many of the tombs have been extensively excavated and are now open to the public. The tombs of the nobles at Luxor are located in the Theban Necropolis, on the west bank of the Nile River. This necropolis was the burial site of the pharaohs and the wealthy during the New Kingdom period. The most famous of the tombs at Luxor is the tomb of Tutankhamun. This tomb was discovered in 1922 by Howard Carter and is now one of the most popular tourist destinations in Egypt.
