Malampuzha is a village and a municipality in the Palakkad district, state of Kerala, India. Malampuzha is spread over an area of 33.42 km². The place is located at the foothills of the Western Ghats and is known for the Malampuzha Dam and the Malampuzha Gardens. The Malampuzha Dam was constructed in 1955 across the Malampuzha River. The dam is a gravity dam made of concrete and masonry. The length of the dam is 912 m and the height is 57.5 m. The reservoir created by the dam has a capacity of 142.5 million cubic meters. The power plant at the dam has a capacity of 50 MW. The Malampuzha Gardens were created in 1957. The gardens are spread over an area of 175 hectares. They are known for their landscaping, including the large number of lotuses in the park.
