About Chandak
Chandak is a small town and a nagar panchayat in Pithoragarh district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The town is situated at a height of 6,816 feet (2,081 m) above mean sea level. It is the last town on the Indian side of the Sino-Indian border. The town is connected by road to Tanakpur in the plains and to the Indo-Tibetan border town of Lipulekh Pass. The town has a police station, a post office, a bank and a few small shops. The nearest airport is at Pantnagar, about 160 kilometres (99 mi) away. The nearest railway station is at Kathgodam, about 95 kilometres (59 mi) away.
