Situated in the village of Puttaparthi in the Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh, the Samadhi Shrine of Sri Sathya Sai Baba is a place of pilgrimage for devotees of the Indian spiritual master. The shrine is located in the Sathya Sai Baba Ashram, a large complex that also includes a hospital, schools, and other facilities. The Samadhi Shrine is dedicated to the memory of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, who died in 2011. It is a simple structure, consisting of a large hall with a marble statue of Sri Sathya Sai Baba at the center. Devotees come to the shrine to pray and meditate, and to receive blessings from the statue. The Sathya Sai Baba Ashram is open to visitors from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Admission is free, but donations are accepted. There is no formal dress code, but visitors are asked to dress conservatively.
