Rameswaram is a small town in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located on the Pamban Island, which is separated from mainland India by the Pamban channel. The town is considered one of the holiest places in Hinduism, and is home to the Rameswaram Temple, dedicated to the god Shiva.
