About Kallanai Dam

The Kallanai Dam is a gravity dam on the Kaveri River in Tiruchirappalli district, Tamil Nadu, India. It was completed in the year 1912 and is the fourth oldest dam in India. The dam supplies water to the city of Tiruchirappalli and also generates hydroelectric power. The dam is 183 metres (600 ft) long and 30 metres (98 ft) high.
