The Banasura Sagar Dam is a gravity dam on the Karamanathodu River in the Wayanad district of Kerala, India. It is the largest earthen dam in India. The dam is named after the demon king Banasura. The dam was completed in 2001. It has a height of 205 m (673 ft) and a length of 1,708 m (5,599 ft). The reservoir has a capacity of 2,391 million cubic metres (3.3×109 cu yd). The Banasura Sagar Dam is a tourist attraction. It is also a popular spot for fishing.
