Xi'an Forest of Stone Steles (西安石碑森林) is a park located in the southeast of Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China. The Forest of Stone Steles is a park located in the southeast of Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China. It is famous for its collection of stone steles from the Tang and Song dynasties. The park contains 2,087 steles and tablets, most of which are inscribed with poems, including the world-famous "Ode to the Spring" by Wang Wei. The Forest of Stone Steles was first built in 656 AD during the Tang Dynasty. At that time, it was known as the "Stone Tablet Forest of Chang'an". The park was enlarged and renamed the "Forest of Stone Steles" during the Song Dynasty. The Forest of Stone Steles is open from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
