Your last stop is the historic Wat Chedi Luang, a majestic Buddhist temple featuring distinctive stone designs influenced by the Lanna architectural style. When you arrive at the top, enjoy the cool temperatures and stop by the Air Force Radar Station, where the stupa dedicated to King Inthawichayanon (the last king of Chiang Mai) is located. Proceed to Phra Mahathat Napha Methanidon and Phra Mahathat Naphaphon Phumisiri, two twin pagodas constructed in honor of the ‘fifth cycle’ birthdays of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit. Continue to a nearby village of the Karen tribe where you’ll stop for lunch (at extra cost) at a local restaurant.
