Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, you will be greeted and assisted "Purba Holidays" representative for your journey to Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya. The drive is around 100 kilometers and takes approximately 3 hours. As you leave Guwahati behind, the scenery gradually changes to lush pine-covered hills and misty valleys. En route, you will stop at Umiam Lake, a serene reservoir surrounded by hills, perfect for a short photography break and to take in the crisp mountain air. After reaching Shillong, check into your hotel and spend the evening relaxing or exploring the local markets such as Police Bazaar at your own pace.

After breakfast, begin your journey towards Mawlynnong, which is about 80 kilometers away and takes around 2.5 hours. Mawlynnong holds the title of being Asia’s Cleanest Village. Walk through the neat village lanes, surrounded by bamboo dustbins and beautiful flower gardens. Also visit the Living Root Bridge at Riwai village nearby, formed naturally by interwoven roots over many decades.
Continue your journey to Dawki, located about 35 kilometers away (1 hour). Here, you will witness the stunning Umngot River, famous for its crystal-clear emerald waters where boats appear to float on air. You may enjoy a boat ride here.
In the evening, travel towards Cherrapunji, around 85 kilometers from Dawki (approximately 3 hours). Upon arrival, check into your hotel and rest amidst the cool Cherrapunji climate.

After breakfast, begin your sightseeing tour of Cherrapunji, known for being one of the wettest places on Earth. Visit Nohkalikai Falls, India’s tallest plunge waterfall, cascading dramatically from lush cliffs. Then explore Seven Sisters Falls, Wah Kaba Falls, and the sprawling Mawsmai Cave, filled with limestone formations shaped by nature. You may also stop at the Eco Park and view the Bangladesh plains from the cliffs.
By afternoon, begin your drive back to Shillong, which is about 55 kilometers and takes around 2 hours. Arrive and relax for the evening.

After breakfast, explore some of Shillong’s important highlights. Visit Elephant Falls, a scenic multi-tiered waterfall located just outside the town. Continue to Shillong Peak, the highest viewpoint in the region, offering a panoramic view of the entire city and surrounding hills. You may also visit Ward’s Lake and Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians if time permits.
After completing sightseeing, drive back to Guwahati, approximately 100 kilometers and around 3 hours of travel. Arrive and check in at your hotel. You may spend the evening at leisure or explore the local markets depending on time and interest.
