About Belum caves Kurnool Belum Caves are the second largest cave system in India. The caves are located in the Belum Valley in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. The caves were discovered in 1884 by British surveyor Robert Bruce Foote. The caves are spread over an area of 3,000 square metres. The caves are made up of limestone and are estimated to be around 2,000 years old. The caves are open for visitors from 8am to 5pm.
