About Devprayag Devprayag is a town and a nagar panchayat in Tehri Garhwal district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is one of the Panch Prayag (Five confluences) of Alaknanda River. The town is situated at the confluence of the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers and is considered one of the holiest places in Hinduism. It is said that the Devprayag is the place where the religious texts, the Puranas, were written. According to Hindu mythology, it is believed that the sage, Narada, asked Lord Vishnu how many places in the world were worth visiting. Lord Vishnu replied that there were 108 places, of which 47 were in India. Devprayag is one of these. The town is also home to the Raghunath Temple, dedicated to Lord Rama.
