About Silent valley national park Silent Valley National Park is a protected area in the Palakkad district of Kerala, India. It is notable as one of the last remaining sanctuaries of the Nilgiri tahr, a mountain goat indigenous to the area. The park is also home to a wide variety of plant and animal life, including tigers, leopards, elephants, and over 260 species of birds. Silent Valley National Park is open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The park can be reached by road from Palakkad, which is about 75 kilometers away.
