The Stadelijk Museum of Modern Art is a museum of modern and contemporary art in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is located in the borough of Amsterdam-Centrum, on the Museumplein, next to the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum. The Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, was founded in 1895 as an Municipal Museum of Decorative Arts. It was designed by H.P. Berlage. The collection comprises modern and contemporary art, including works by Piet Mondrian, Kazimir Malevich, Wassily Kandinsky, Yves Klein, Marcel Duchamp, Jackson Pollock, and Andy Warhol. The current building, the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, was designed by Benthem Crouwel Architects and opened on September 22, 2012.
