Kanchipuram Ekambaranatha Temple, located in Kanchipuram, is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is one of the five major Shiva temples in the city. The temple is believed to have been built by the Pallava king, Mahendravarman I, in the 6th century. The temple has a three-tiered rajagopuram, the gateway tower, and is surrounded by a large compound. The temple is dedicated to Ekambaranatha, the Lord of the Earth. It is one of the five major Shiva temples in the city, the others being Kanchipuram Kailasanatha Temple, Kanchipuram Vaikunta Perumal Temple, Kanchipuram Varadarajaswami Temple, and Kanchipuram Divya Desams. The temple is a popular pilgrimage destination and is visited by thousands of devotees every year.
