About Hanyang Tombs
Xi'an Hanyang Tombs is a group of tombs located in Hanyang District, Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tombs were built in the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-24 AD) for the first emperor of the dynasty, Emperor Gaozu, and his empress Lü Zhi. The tombs were excavated in the 1970s and 1980s. The site includes the tombs of Emperor Gaozu and Empress Lü Zhi, as well as the tombs of six of their children. The site covers an area of .
