The Zurich Rhine Falls are a set of waterfalls that straddle the border between Switzerland and Germany, near the city of Zurich. The falls are the largest in Europe, and are a major tourist attraction. The Zurich Rhine Falls are located where the Rhine River flows out of Lake Zurich and into the Rhine Valley. The falls are divided into two sections, the Upper and Lower Falls. The Upper Falls are located in Switzerland, and are about 23 meters high. The Lower Falls are located in Germany, and are about 15 meters high. The Zurich Rhine Falls are a major tourist attraction, and receive over 1.5 million visitors per year. The falls are open to the public year-round, and there are a number of tourist facilities available, including a visitors center, a restaurant, and a souvenir shop.
