One of the famous highlights of Meghalaya is trekking to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge. Built by the villagers using the interwoven roots of locally growing rubber trees, these bridges are as old as 500 years and can withstand heavy rainfall. Whats even more interesting is that the bridge continues to grow and strengthen over the years. The initial trek will take you past small villages and will be a gentle descent, but the later part of the trek involves a sharper gradient. Your effort will be rewarded by the amazing view of Rainbow Falls and the Double Decker bridge.
