Upon arrival at Bagdogra Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative. After a brief introduction and assistance, your journey to Phuentsholing begins. At the Pedestrian Terminal, you will complete immigration formalities to obtain your inner-line permit. Continue your scenic drive through winding mountain roads towards Thimphu, which takes approximately six hours. En route highlights: Visit to the serene Kharbandi Gumba Stopover at a picturesque waterfall, perfect for a quick photo and refreshment break Upon reaching Thimphu, check in to your pre-booked hotel. Thimphu is the capital of Bhutan. After breakfast, you can start your local sightseeing in Thimphu by visiting the following places. After morning Breakfast , transfer to Punakha from Thimphu which takes approx 3 hr one way. On the way, cover the places below for sightseeing. After sightseeing, drive back to Thimphu. Later visit :- Dochula Pass. The Dochula Pass is a mountain pass in the snow covered Himalayas within Bhutan on the road from Thimpu to Punakha where 108 memorial chortens or stupas known as "Druk Wangyal Chortens" have been built by Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuk, the eldest Queen Mother. Apart from the chortens there is a monastery called the Druk Wangyal Lhakhang (temple), built in honour of the fourth Druk Gyalpo (head of the state of Bhutan), Jigme Singye Wangchuck; the open grounds in its front yard is a venue for the annual Dochula Druk Wangyel Festival. The pass with 108 memorial chortens is adjacent to the country's first Royal Botanical Park. Later visit :- Chimi Lhakhang The Chimi Lhakhang, situated on a hillock in the centre of the valley, is also known as the temple of fertility. It is widely believed that couples who do not have children and want one, if they pray at this temple, they are usually blessed with a child very soon. A walk through the village near the temple will give you rare glimpses into the daily life and lifestyle of the villagers. Punakha Dzong It was built in 1637 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, at the junction of the Phochu and Mochu rivers. This majestic dzong served as both the religious and the administrative center of Bhutan in the past. It measures some 600 by 240 feet and has a six-story, gold-domed tower. Inside are courtyards and religious statuary that hint at the depth of history and spiritual tradition embodied here. In the evening, enjoy a leisurely walk around the main street and explore the local market area. Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang Lhakhang) is Bhutan’s most iconic landmark and sacred site. The name "Taktsang" means "The Tiger’s Nest." It is believed that Guru Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche) flew to this site on the back of a tigress from Tibet to subdue a demon and later meditated here. The monastery, first built in 1692, sits dramatically on a cliffside and is reached by a 2-3 hour trek through pine forests adorned with moss and prayer flags.
