Arrival of other guest at Guwahati Airport by air. Later pick up the other guest and drive to Shiilong en route visit Umium Lake. Evening explore the local market.Overnight in Shillong.

After breakfast proceed for a day trip to Jowai enroute visit to Laitlum Canyon. Be witness to the Nartiang Monoliths, a cluster of monoliths which stand as a testimony of Jaintia rulers’ strength. Also visit the Nartiang Durga Temple, a 500-year-old Mandir. It is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas of Hindu Mythology. Also witness the Krang Suri Falls for breath-taking views. Evening return to Shillong for overnight stay.

 

Morning after breakfast drive to Cherrapunjee enroute visit to Elephant Falls & Mawdok valley . Later visit to Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsmai Cave , Garden of Caves , Eco park & Seven Sisters Falls.Overnight in Shillong .

After an early breakfast, we move towards the starting point of the Double Decker Bridge trek, located in Nongriate village. We will then proceed towards Double Decker Bridge one of the most unique bridges in the world built by the ancient tribes of Khasi hills. Enjoy a nice shower in the pools with pristine blue water. Also get the opportunity to cross the Hanging bridge.

 

 

Double Decker Route Bridge: To witness the Double Decker root bridges in Cherrapunjee one needs to trek maximum 4 -5 hrs. This trek are on uneven routes where one needs to climb/descend some 4000 odd number steps and suggestible for people with good health only. Trek is closed on Sundays. Local guide for this trek is mandatory.
 

Located in the thick tropical forest of Meghalaya, cloaked with rain during most part of the year are the fantastic man-made cum natural wonders of the living root bridges. Created by the people of the Khasi tribe, these roots grow from the ancient rubber trees, seen only in the northeast region. These roots are trained by the Khasis to grow in such a manner as be in the form of bridges on the top of a river. These bridges are an amazing alternative to wooden bridges that dwindle with so much rain falling on them. ( Local Guide is mandatory in Double Decker Trek).

Today after breakfast drive towards Mawlynnong Village. Mawlynnong Village located in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, also referred as ‘God’s own garden’ has won the acclaim of being the cleanest village in Asia in 2003. The village known for its cleanliness is located around 90 kms from Shillong and is a community based eco-tourism initiative. The community has made collective effort to maintain the ambience of a clean village. The village offers picturesque natural beauty, a trek to the living Root bridge at a neighbouring village Riwai. The village also offers a sight of natural balancing rock, a strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock. Later on short trek to the Living Root Bridge (30 minutes) and explore the village.Also visit Dawki (Indo-Bangladesh border), one can enjoy boat ride at crystal clear water of Umngot river (boat ride on direct payment). Evening drive back to Cherrapunjee & overnight stay.

 

Transfer to Guwahati Airport to board flight for onwards destination . Suggested evening flight.
