The Al Omari Mosque is a mosque located in the heart of Beirut's old city, in the Harat al-Gharb quarter. It is the oldest mosque in Beirut, and was built in the late 12th century by the Mamluk ruler Saladin. The mosque was heavily damaged during the Lebanese Civil War, but has since been restored. The mosque is open to visitors during prayer times, and visitors are not allowed to enter during prayer services.
