The temple town of Bhadrachalam is located on the banks of the river Godavari in the Khammam district of Telangana. The town is revered for the temple of Lord Rama, who is said to have appeared here to Sabari, an ardent devotee. The temple is said to have been built by the Pallava king, Narasimhavarman II in the 7th century. The town is also home to several other temples, including the temples of Lord Venkateswara and Lord Siva. The main festival celebrated at the Bhadrachalam temple is the Sravana Panduga, which falls in the month of August. The festival is celebrated for nine days and is attended by thousands of pilgrims. The town comes alive with the sound of music and dance performances, as well as with the aroma of delicious food.
