About Gulmarg
Gulmarg is a town, a hill station and a tourist destination in the Baramula district of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is situated in the Pir Panjal Range, about 54 km from Srinagar. The town is on a high meadow, about 3,000 m above sea level, and is a popular ski resort. In summer, it is a popular destination for trekking. Gulmarg also has a golf course, the first in India. Gulmarg is believed to be the birthplace of the Hindu god, Lord Shiva.
