World's highest motorable road- Ladakh
World's highest motorable road- Ladakh
The beauty of India can be seen all around the country, and each region offers something different to see and do. Observing an increasing interest in travelling rather than visiting as a tourist, the younger generation and people are now venturing out on adventures. The first step to being a traveller is to leave your comfort zone. That is why travellers are on the lookout for new and unusual methods to create memories worth remembering.

When it comes to adventure destinations, Ladakh is the most popular, and every traveller adores it. The reason for this is because you can ride your bikes under a magnificent sky while being surrounded by mountains that tell the stories of so many people's lives. This place's significance is that, in addition to its natural beauty and adventure, Ladakh now has the world's highest motorable road. Border Roads Organization developed the world's highest motorable road in Ladakh, at 19,300 feet (BRO). The 52-kilometre tarmac road in Eastern Ladakh was built by the organisation. It crosses through Umlingla Pass, which is substantially higher than Siachen Glacier in altitude. India establishes a new world record in this. The whole initiative was under the BRO's 'Project Himank,' which was executed under the strict supervision of Brigadier DM Purvimath, the project's chief engineer.
This road will benefit not only travellers but also locals, as it provides an alternative direct route from Leh to Chisumle and Demchok. Because of the temperature and weather conditions, constructing this road was incredibly difficult. While it may be comfortable to build the road at such a height in the summer, the temperature drops to minus 40 degrees in the winter, posing a tremendous challenge.

This world's highest motorable road will be worth all of the hard work and meticulous planning since it will undoubtedly increase tourism in the region, resulting in economic growth for Leh and Ladakh.
Plan your trip to Ladakh and experience travelling on the world’s highest motorable road.
