The Elephant Falls

The Elephant Falls is a waterfall located in the East Khasi Hills district of the state of Meghalaya in northeast India. The falls are located approximately 33 km from the city of Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya.
The Elephant Falls are a major tourist attraction in Meghalaya.It is a must visit place for the tourists. This waterfall is also a popular spot for picnics.

The Elephant Falls are named for the elephant-shaped outcrop of rock at their base. The falls are divided into three sections, the Upper Fall, the Middle Fall, and the Lower Fall. The Upper Fall is the most dramatic, with a drop of about 97 metres. The Middle Fall is about 26 metres high, and the Lower Fall is about 9 metres high.

The Elephant Falls were created by the erosive action of the Umiam River on the Khasi Hills. The river flows over a series of steep, rocky steps, creating the gusting waterfall.

The Ward’s Lake

The Lady Hydari Park

The Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians

The Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians is a Roman Catholic cathedral located in Shillong, Meghalaya, India. It is the seat of the Archbishop of Shillong.

Mawlynnong village
